According to someone “in the know” inside Floyd Mayweather’s camp, Mayweather is now balking at the thought of putting his neck on the line in the ring against Mosley for financial reasons. Let’s hope this latest rumor is not true, because Floyd can’t afford another debacle like the Pacqiao fight collapse, when many saw him as deliberately placing obstacles in the way of the bout happening. Mayweather v. Mosley tickets could be among 2010’s hottest boxing tickets, as Mosley is no pushover and this will be a fight, however Maweather may look at it.

“Floyd did the math and Floyd is saying, ‘Why should I take a potentially difficult bout against Mosley for $10 million or less when I get $40 million or more to fight Manny Pacquiao, and that could be an easier fight to win?,” this mysterious in-the-know person has said. Question is, is it true?

The answer – no way! Mayweather v Mosley is a dead certainty and Mayweather Mosley tickets are going to be one of the biggest selling boxing tickets this year. The gossipers are too busy contradicting themselves to give Money May and his fists time to talk. Fact is, Mayweather tickets are still the top draw in world boxing and Mosley represents a huge challenge in what is the most electric boxing scene in decades. With a host of other up-and-comers, like Imran Khan and Cesar Seda Jr., 2010 boxing will be as good as last year, and that is talking!

Mayweather v. Mosley tickets are now on sale, and the countdown has begun on what could be one of the best fights of 2010. Boxing schedules are never set in stone, as we saw with the Mayweather v Pacquiao fiasco, but this one looks like it is finally gonna happen. Mosley and Mayweather Jr. have now agreed to terms for the welterweight super fight, and it is all systems go in both camps as they train their guys up for the big one on May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“Shane has signed. I sat with him and we went through every provision of the contract and he signed,” Mosley’s attorney Judd Burstein has announced, adding, “he is excited to move forward with the bout.”

Mayweather was free to fight once his disastrous plan to fight Pacquiao collapsed, with pound-for-pound king Pacquiao off to fight Joshua Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium. Pacquiao v. Clottey tickets are also selling well, as America eagerly buys up tickets to any fight these two are involved in. The row over what drug testing protocol to employ in the run-in to the Mayweather Pacquiao bout was what ruined things, but everyone is hopeful that someday these men will go toe-to-toe and we’ll finally see who is the true king of world boxing. Negotiations immediately began for the Mayweather Mosley fight and Mayweather Mosley tickets have begun to move in serious quantity as the fight date looms.

In an almost comical coincidence, Mosley has agreed to random blood and urine testing, the very sticking point that derailed the Mayweather v. Pacqiuao fight. Maybe this time the two will be fighting and Mayweather v. Mosley tickets will be in your hands and worth their weight in gold!

Well while the Mayweather Pacquiao fight looks to be on hold for the foreseeable future, you can get Super Bowl tickets to see a battle of another type. Manny and Floyd get it on in the ring, but in the NFL the fight is on the gridiron, for 60 mins of football action. This year it looks like there are going to be some solid teams taking part so if you can get to a game you are going to see a great game. We’ve got the Saints and Vikings in the NFC Championship, and the Cols and Jets in the AFC Championship, and the winners get to face off in Super Bowl XLIV. You definitely want to see the biggest sporting event of the year, besides a Mayweather Pacquiao fight, so get your tickets right away.

Fans planning to purchase the Pacquiao-Mayweather tickets were confused last night (12/23) that the whole thing was off, after Pacman’s camp refused to play ball over Mayweather’s insistence on random drug tests for the Filipino.

The mind games are well and truly underway and Mayweather’s staff have been accused of trying to deflect criticism and suspicion of their
own fighter over the use of performance-enhancing substances. Today, Christmas Eve, it looks like the fight is back on again, or at least definitely not off, whatever the difference is.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has demanded that Pacquiao be drug tested 30 days before the bout, but Pacquiao told Top Rank president Todd duBoef that he would go ahead with a test if it’s done prior to the kick-off press conference and again after the fight. Mayweather’s camp’s claims that Pacquiao is relying on using performance-enhancers is seen by many as a sign of anxiety on their part that Pacquiao will strip Mayweather of his “Undefeated” status. All in all, it makes for a great build-up to what will be the greatest boxing match in a long time. Both Mayweather and Pacman are ready for this, but right now it is the American who seems to have blinked first. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is playing a cool game, and only responding to Mayweather’s taunts rather than contributing to the general air of madness that always precedes a big bout like this. A sense of good guy versus bad guy is being built up superbly as the world prepares to buy Mayweather v. Pacquiao tickets and take a ringside seat for a smashing fight.

The question of whether the drug test fight was merely to stir interest in the fight or to play havoc with the mind of Pacquiao goes unresolved as yet. The Mayweather team are using expressions like “level the playing field” in reference to the alleged claims of Pacman’s drug use – and this is surely to plant in the minds of spectators that their man is under some kind of disadvantage. Either way, it shows Mayweather is taking Pacquiao very seriously – a sharp contrast to how he approached the Marquez fight.

Mayweather’s zero loss record is something he prizes greatly, and one he wants to take into retirement. It is in his nature to use any device he can to swerve media scrutiny of his own game and pile the pressure on his opponent. The whole thing makes for a grand ol’ run in to this absolutely sterling match up between boxing’s two best fighters. Pacquiao is a focused man, though, and under Roach he will be sequestered far from the nonsense of the boxing mind games. The trash talking is not for him. Pacquiao prefers to let his fighting do the talking instead, but against a foe as formidable as Money May he will need to bring it, big time.

Pacquiao has earned the right make his own counterargument to the drug test conditions that Mayweather’s camp are forcing upon him. It’s been said that the boxing authority make the rules, not Floyd Mayweather, and that is the way it should be. Come on and buy tickets to Mayweather boxing Pacquiao – it’s gonna rock and you just have to be there!

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao tickets – whether to the CCTV version to the event itself are not going to be cheap, let’s not kid ourselves. The very thought of Manny Pacquiao fighting Floyd Mayweather ignites massive interest here, in the Filipines, in Europe, in South America, in Africa, you name it. The two boxers are facing the toughest tests of their lives, and not much is being said about Mayweather’s training regime. What exactly is Floyd Jr. doing ot prepare for this hyped up bout of the supermen? Now that the deal has been signed and sealed (almost), there is just a press conference in January to wait for – and the location of the fight to be officially announced. Everyone says it will be Vegas. Everyone knows it will be Vegas – or will it? Talk of the new Cowboys Stadium is making people nervous and exhilarated in equal measure; a huge arena like that would mean a lot more tickets sold, but a smaller, more traditional Las Vegas casino setting will mean higher ticket prices. At the end of the day, there are bottom lines to be met here and either way the Mayweather Pacquiao boxing fest will be a total sell out.

The expected mind games between the two boxing camps has already started. Perhaps Mayweather’s preparations have called for head games as one of their chief strategies. Floyd Mayweather, Sr , Mayweather’s boxing trainer father, has begun to ask questions of Pacquiao’s ability to dominate seven different weight classes. Mayweather Sr. has even gone so far as to infer that Pacman may have used performance-enhancing drugs to achieve the superhuman feat. The pseudo-scandal only serves to ramp up the demand for Manny Pacquiao tickets.

The more experienced player, Mayweather, is seeking to put Pacquiao on the back foot before he even steps into the ring. Undoubtedly, Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, will be reassuring the fabled Pacman that it is just talk, and not to pay any mind to it. Roach proudly points out that Manny has never failed a drug test, and perhaps this will be enough to silence that particular Mayweather smear campaign. Both fighters are prepared to undergo drug testing before the fight, invasive as it may be. Blood tests at UCLA have been mentioned as the test of choice. Manny Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach is said to be angry at the Mayweather drug allegations. Roach didn’t hesitate to offer his man up for testing. So let the games begin…

This just in: As the big wait continues for Mayweather Pacquiao tickets, Boxing writer Manuel Perez says welterweight wizard Manny Pacquiao will be systematically destroyed in the Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight if he fails to raise his game beyond anything he has at the moment. Pacman’s “limited skills” mean he currently has the status of “a fighter with a ‘hit me’ sign tapped to his head in his fights”, according to Perez.

Perez – who is often controversial in his opinions on boxing – claims that “Pacquiao blocks nothing other than with his face, and [Perez] really fears for him against a talented fighter like Mayweather”. The fact is, Manny Pacquiao can take it as wel as give it, but the big question is, can he take what Mayweather can dish out? The claims by Perez that it is “easy” to hit Pacquiao (he even claims Ricky Hatton was hitting Pacquiao before he was knocked out!) are to be taken with a grain of salt. The fact is, if Mayweather wins this fight then he is simply the best boxer in the world today. It will be Mayweather’s unique combination of stamina, accuracy and boxing intelligence that win the day, not any inability on Pacman’s part to dodge punches.

There are those who claim that all of Pacquiao’s biggest fights were against slow opponents, but if this is the case, how were they able to hit him easily? Perez’s claims that Pacquiao has no experience against faster punchers is surely part of the mind-games in the run up to this massive fight. It is hard to imagine anyone other than Mayweather beating Pacquiao at this point, and may the best man win. With both fighters weighing in at 147, there’ll be no clear weight advantage, and this could prove the cause of a huge upset for Mayweather. The probability of the larger man losing are slim, however; Mayweather doesn’t mess about. Ever. Pacquiao will have to be primed to the max by Freddie Roach. We know Roach can read his opponents’ styles and weaknesses to the letter, though, and if even Mayweather is open to Roach’s killer analysis, then Pacman will stand a chance.

To say that Pacquiao can’t take a punch is ridiculous; he took too many to count against Cotto and still he hammered Cotto. That is the proof of a good boxer. Manny, don’t let this guy get to you. If you’re a boxing fan and you plan to buy Pacquiao Mayweather tickets, buy your tickets and head to Vegas; you’re gonna be lucky enough to see one of the greatest fights in boxing history!

According to Pacman’s twitter feed, England’s Amir Khan is among the potential sparring partners for the Filipino fighter ahead of his showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in March, 2010. WBA light welterweight champion Khan – a boxer in the Freddie Roach stable – says he’ll spar with Manny Pacquiao along with other sparring partners in preparation for southpaw Pacquiao’s bid for glory against undefeated Mayweather. Adviser Michael Koncz said Pacquiao will train in Baguio City again, as he did prior to the bout against Miguel Cotto on November 14. Pacquiao will then fly to L.A. and begin final preparations at trainer Roach’s gym in the sprawling Californian metropolis.

Khan smashed undefeated Dmitriy Salita in his first title defense in December ‘09 in Newcastle, England and it is believed that the choice of him as a sparring partner for Pacquiao could be a reward for that victory.

Khan said “it will be nice to share the ring with a great, great fighter. It is brilliant to know you are helping one of the world’s best fighters.”

Khan, who is a firm favorite in the UK, represented Britain when he won an Olympic Games silver medal in Athens. Khan has seen great results from signing on with Roach and his Californian Wild Card Gym. He added, “if Freddie wants me to spar with him (Pacquiao) that means he has faith in me. That can only give me confidence.”

Mayweather v. Pacquiao scheduled for March 13 2010!

When Manny Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum announced that this fight was really happening after a meeting with his powerhouse fighter in Manila, the world began to make their preparations for the March 13 showdown between the two best boxers on earth. The super bout is primed and ready to go, and all kinds of crazy rumors are flying about. Some are saying that the fight could be held i the Philipines, others are saying it will never happen – here or in the Philippines – because these two guys are simply worth too much money and daren’t get too smashed up in case they can’t fight again. Mostly, though, people are talking about buying Pacquiao v. Mayweather fight tickets and being ringside when the two go toe-to-toe.

Arum will now return to the US and meet with Mayweather’s representative. “Now my job is to go back to the United States, sit with Richard Schaefer (Mayweather’s guy) and the Mayweather people, so that we can make an announcement in a short term.”

March 13th is definitely the date, this can be confirmed. Exactly where this fight will be staged though is another story. Most people expect it to be Las Vegas, scene of most of the world’s biggest boxing bouts, but there could be a twist. Let’s not forgot that Ali fought outside the States, Tyson fought outside the States, as have others before today. A major fight like this in a country like the Philippines would provide massive revenue for that country, and with Pacquiao currently embroiled in Filipino politics, what’s to say he isn’t trying to leverage a deal to the benefit of his country? Whatever the venue, wherever the country, Mayweather Pacquiao is on! That’s the most exciting news in boxing on a long while.

Now Pacquiao has battered Cotto so convincingly, the way is paved for what many are calling the last great megabout in world boxing. Mayweather v. Pacquiao tickets are going to be selling at a premium, and the TV revenue alone will likely dwarf most that of other world title fights. There are those who will literally pay anything for Floyd Mayweather tickets, and who freely claim that their boy is good enough to beat any man who comes remotely close to him, weight-wise. There are others, though, filled with renewed confidence in Manny Pacquiao’s ability to destroy rated opponents after his decimation of Miguel Cotto in November 2009. Pacman showed all his ferocious tricks in that fight; the gift of speed, of coordination, of judgement and stamina. Mayweather’s fans will laugh at this victory as if it is irrelevant. Deep down they feel a confidence borne of the performances Floyd has produced so consistently this past few years, when welterweight boxing has seen one of its golden ages. In 2007 Mayweather pasted Ricky Hatton and wasted Oscar De La Hoya, both bouts standing as solid reminders why Floyd Mayweather Jr. can walk the walk as well as talk the talk. The super welterweight De La Hoya “superfight” saw Floyd Mayweather tickets sold out 3 hours after going onsale. This was no surprise. Nor was the outcome of the fight; Mayweather defeated De La Hoya by split decision over 12 rounds, earning WBC light middleweight champion status. Mayweather’s WBC Welterweight championship title saw an unforgettable defence against Hatton, in a fight later that year at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Mayweather beat Hatton by knockout in the round ten, throwing left-handers that no welterweight could possibly stand up to. The march to greatness was on. Or so we thought. Then, Mayweather announced his retirement from the sport, declaring his wish to become a fight promoter. It was the end of 2007, but was it the end of Floyd Mayweather?
In March, 2009, Mayweather announced that he was ready to fight again. He chose Juan Manuel Marquez as his opponent in what many called a “soft fight”. Mayweather denied that he had hand-picked an easy bout, saying that Marquez was enough of a pro to provide some fierce resistance. Predictably, Mayweather beat Marqeuz by unanimous decision in a fight that could only ever really go one way. The September, 2009 bout was the first development in the much-awaited “last great megabout”. When Pacquiao beat – nay, destroyed Miguel Cotto – the scene was set. Mayweather v. Pacquiao tickets were destined to go on sale – and be sold out within hours.
